I had long worn Sven's purses cross-body and off my shoulder. Then over 10 years ago my doctor told me I could no longer wear them due to asymmetrical stress on my torso that was causing neck and shoulder pain. I didn't like the idea of wearing a backpack to work; it just didn't seem professional, especially for someone in her 50s. Further, I didn't like the idea that someone behind me could open and get into a backpack without my knowledge. However, later that week I was in SF a shoe store when I saw the smallest version (510B) in black of Sven's wonderful backpacks (1) that CANNOT, when worn, be opened,. (2) are, as usual for Sven, well-crafted in beautiful, soft leather, and (3) made in the USA! I immediately bought it and have used it daily ever since. It's been especially useful when traveling as I can walk through crowded airports without worrying about pickpockets. I'm retired now and though there's nothing wrong with my bag - it has withstood the test of time with flying colors - I wanted a larger version so bought this, the largest (#810B) size of the three, in chocolate. The dark, rich color is beautiful, and it's just as well made as my beloved 510B! Sven quality has not deteriorated over time! P.S. When shopping, I slip on the smallest of my Sven cross-body/shoulder bags to hold my phone case (which holds my credit cards).

I first purchase this bag in 1990 from a little shop at the Hotel Del Coronado. I wore it to bits. I have since purchased 5 I believe. I wear them till they are dingy and worn. Still good. This bag saved me when I landed flat on my back in the Muir Woods having slipped on moss on wood. This bag is in all the family vacation photos. I LOVE THIS BAG. I have Coach, Doonie and even a Louis from before I got married 1986 but NOTHING compares to this bag. I just bought another one just to have in reserve. I will keep buying these bags as they fit my active lifestyle. They are great for Mom's because there is room for everything. The quality is outstanding. The craftsmanship is pure quality. Thick leather and very durable lining.

That makes it so much easier when you're digging around in the bag looking for something. But, the biggest reason I love this bag is that it is so secure. Someone cannot get into this bag when you're wearing it on your back without you knowing. The 810B bag has traveled to Europe many takes and ridden the El in Chicago without incident.

I have been buying this bag for more then 20 years when I first discovered it a a boutique shop in the Hotel Del Coronado. I have been buying ever since. It is a work horse. I wear them into the ground. I have even had the lining re-done. That can only "sometimes" be done once. This bag saved my back when I landed on it in the Muir Woods. I love this bag for everyday with my son who has epilepsy I am ready do drop and go and not worry about my bag falling off me or out on the street. Very comfortable straps as well. I just love this bag.The quality of leather is top notch. It is better then a "designer plastic bag" I have those too......but this is the favorite and the most practical and comfortable.

This is the fifth of these purse/backpack bags that I have bought. Not because they wear out quickly but because I have carried only this one style bag for the last 15 years. I am a traveler and with the back zipper pocket, I am travel safe wherever I go. I never change purses....always just this one bag. Love the buttery leather and the design and most of all how pick pocket safe it is when worn on the back. Thank you SVEN!

This bag replaces its smaller "sister" that was almost the only bag I used for about 7 years! I love that I can fit more into this one - making it an attractive "backpack" when traveling, but it is flat and light if less than filled. The quality of SVEN is outstanding.

I currently own 3 Sven bags, and have owned two others that I've passed along to niece who love them. Sven bags are made of very high grade leather and are made to exacting standards. Absolutely the best bags I've ever owned and well worth the money.

Sven products are so nicely made and I especially love the backpack which can also be a bucket bag. I just purchased my third one! I inquired about the color and got a speedy and excellent reply. With the simple and sophisticated design, they can be used for years and never go out of style. It is big enough to hold a lot - - but can be sleek enough for an elegant evening.
